Skills centres and trailblazing business sectors...
The Poitiers Biopole: a network of experts and a cradle of innovation
As a complement to the Futuroscope Technology Park, which focuses specifically on knowledge and digital technology-based activities, the Biopôle, thanks to its expertise in Life Sciences (health and medications) and the Environment (water, soils and bioengineering), has become the second-biggest skills centre in the Poitiers urban area.
The “Digital Technology and ICT” business sector
The Poitiers urban area has experienced massive growth in the fields of ICT, multimedia, open and distance learning and the remote management of customer relations. Therefore, companies operating in the Information and Communications Technologies and Multimedia sectors have played a major role in the expansion of the Futuroscope Technology Park
The Pôle MTA (Mobility and Advanced Transportation Competitive Cluster):
Located at the heart of the Futuroscope Technology Park in the CAP, the Pôle MTA is an internationally-recognised centre of excellence from which a number of major development projects have originated in the fields of research, development and experimentation concerning vehicles of the future. Its areas of expertise include energy storage, either electrical for today’s vehicles or hydrogen for the fuel cell applications of the future; the drive train from the engine to the vehicles’ wheels; experimentation into vehicles and hybrid electrical transport systems and the use of biofuels and materials derived from plants.
